Louie

We are helping these folks find a new home for Louie as unfortunately he and the other resident cat do NOT get along and Louie really needs a home with no other animals.   here is info from the family.

Louie is a sweet 11 yrs old boy ..  He’s a Very handsome neutered tabby

Last vet visit – December 11, 2017 and Vet confirmed that he is healthy.

Personality:

When we return home Louie often comes to the door to greet us. He has the softest fur, and loudest purr ever. He will often request to be picked up for cuddles.  Other times he will sit next to us on the couch and will roll over for belly rubs while purring.  He will let us trim his nails with no problem but he doesn’t love it.  Loves to watch birds or falling leaves from a window seat.  Loves to drink the water drained from a can of tuna as an occasional treat.  Loves to play with catnip toys or with some string if you dangle and move it for him. He is very well mannered.  Does not scratch at the furniture and responds well to very gentle reprimands if he’s doing anything he shouldn’t.  One quirk is that he will eat strange things.  We cleared the home of steel wool when we first inherited him because we found him eating it!  Have since discovered that he is also interested in eating plants and flowers, loofah’s, string bags, brooms, anything stringy so we are careful about leaving anything accessible that could be dangerous to him.  He is a mellow and cuddly cat who wants nothing more than a quiet, indoor home with a loving human.

Ideal Home:  He is fabulous with humans but very nervous of other cats.  We are looking for a home where he can ideally be the only animal or at very least, be the only cat.  He is and has always been an indoor only cat.  We think it would be safest to find a home where he can remain indoors.  He is very gentle and mellow.  He would be the perfect fit for an older person looking for a feline buddy.

Broken Promises Rescue is a volunteer run, not-for-profit, animal rescue organization located in the lower Vancouver Island. We are a group of long time rescuers that have come together to focus on improving the lives of unwanted, neglected and orphaned animals on Vancouver Island (as well as remote communities and other areas of B.C. if our resources allow us to.) Currently we are seeing many pets overlooked in the shelter system because they have less than desirable qualities. They may have medical or behavioral issues or they may simply be the wrong color, age or breed. At Broken Promise Rescue we believe all animals deserve to experience a life without pain, loneliness or hunger and want them to know what it feels like to be loved and cherished, despite appearance, age or medical condition. We are also dedicated to public education and raising awareness to help end the ongoing abuse, neglect and suffering. Educating children and adults about the responsibilities of animal ownership will go a long way in influencing public opinion on proper animal care, and help mold a more compassionate future. No animal should suffer at the hands of ignorance.
