Ryder– adoption pending

Welcome Ryder to BPR !! He is a sweet 1.5 year old boy who came to us with a very large open wound in his neck that needed surgery to repair .. we also had him neutered at the same time ..

He is only about 30 lb…. We think he’s a dashund/jack Russell/terrier cross… He’s super sweet and Is a spunky little dog with big dog personality..

He gets along great with small dogs… But does need some work with big dogs… A good growl class would do wonders for this boy… He’s definitely not looking for a fight he’s just isn’t sure of big dogs….

He’s super sweet and cuddly… Would be great if somebody has no other animals and just wants him to dote on…(no cats please)  As long as you’re active and willing to do a few classes with him you’ll be a great little dog for somebody

He does get into stuff so does need to be created when you leave the house so hopefully someone who doesn’t work long hours as he can only be created Max 4 to 5 hours during the day… And again we want to ever adopt him to sign up for some training classes… to teach him to look at his owner when walking and the other to assist him work with him on socialization and how to be with other dogs.

He would be best in a home with no kids as he is still a puppy and very “mouthy” and may not know how to react to children.

He also needs someone who will be dedicated and wants a dog they can work with “mind” stimulation as well .. he needs a fair bit of time working his mind as well as exercise,  as he is super smart and without this he will just get into trouble.

Broken Promises Rescue is a volunteer run, not-for-profit, animal rescue organization located in the lower Vancouver Island. We are a group of long time rescuers that have come together to focus on improving the lives of unwanted, neglected and orphaned animals on Vancouver Island (as well as remote communities and other areas of B.C. if our resources allow us to.) Currently we are seeing many pets overlooked in the shelter system because they have less than desirable qualities. They may have medical or behavioral issues or they may simply be the wrong color, age or breed. At Broken Promise Rescue we believe all animals deserve to experience a life without pain, loneliness or hunger and want them to know what it feels like to be loved and cherished, despite appearance, age or medical condition. We are also dedicated to public education and raising awareness to help end the ongoing abuse, neglect and suffering. Educating children and adults about the responsibilities of animal ownership will go a long way in influencing public opinion on proper animal care, and help mold a more compassionate future. No animal should suffer at the hands of ignorance.
