Yoko and Flynn – courtesy post

I’m looking for some help re-homing a couple of senior cats. Flynn (14) orange tabby and Yoko (13) pure white. Yoko has been a part of my life for the last 7 years, While Flynn has been for 3 years since my other cat Thomas passed away. Both boys came from the SPCA neutered and have been indoor cats the whole time. They have been there for me during my toxic relationship where I needed more love and support than my partner provided. Now I am in a much better, healthy relationship with the love of my life and now wife. Unfortunately despite my wife’s best efforts to accommodate the boys, she has significant allergies that she can’t control and it is difficult to see her suffer. So, I have come to the decision to find Yoko and Flynn a new home together.Yoko is a sweet cuddly boy who likes to chase his own tail or toy. He loves sun bathing and personal grooming in the window. He can have a bad habit of looking around the kitchen for bits to snack on including up on the counter if you leave something tasty out.Flynn loves lounging atop the love seat, stretching his paws out to touch you when you sit down. He is also a very cuddly boy and loves to give headbutts, but beware that he can be protective of his toe beans and hind quarters as he will make a fuss and hiss. If you bug him to much he will gently grab and bite without breaking skin. Both Flynn and Yoko are very comfortable with eachother but they have on occasion chased one another close to mealtimes with Flynn pulling tuffs of fur from Yoko when they rough around. Both boys are very vocal around meals and like to be underfoot when you are in the kitchen. The only health concerns to note is that Flynn had his top right canine extracted when he was at the SPCA so his lip occasionally catches on his gums and Yoko sometimes gets a little discharge and some pink eye in his right eye. These two would probably be best suited for a quiet home with seniors who are looking for some company and don’t mind a bit of fur around the house. We are located in the Nanaimo area. If you or someone you know would be interested in homing these two loving cats you can contact me via Facebook messenger.Thank you for your consideration.-Andrew Dolhttps://www.facebook.com/andrew.s.dol

Broken Promises Rescue is a volunteer run, not-for-profit, animal rescue organization located in the lower Vancouver Island. We are a group of long time rescuers that have come together to focus on improving the lives of unwanted, neglected and orphaned animals on Vancouver Island (as well as remote communities and other areas of B.C. if our resources allow us to.) Currently we are seeing many pets overlooked in the shelter system because they have less than desirable qualities. They may have medical or behavioral issues or they may simply be the wrong color, age or breed. At Broken Promise Rescue we believe all animals deserve to experience a life without pain, loneliness or hunger and want them to know what it feels like to be loved and cherished, despite appearance, age or medical condition. We are also dedicated to public education and raising awareness to help end the ongoing abuse, neglect and suffering. Educating children and adults about the responsibilities of animal ownership will go a long way in influencing public opinion on proper animal care, and help mold a more compassionate future. No animal should suffer at the hands of ignorance.
