Axelle

Axelle is a Malinois/bully breed mix. But is 90% bully breed in temperament. She is 54 – 55 lbs

She is great with dogs – loves to play! Good with people, and getting better with cats  She is about 10 months old

She is crate trained, has good recall (still working through formal recall with distractions around) and has overall good manners with dogs and people.

She is treat driven, and will learn anything for a treat. Axelle is EXCELLENT in a crate, she loves her cozy den and is happy to go in. Sometimes she puts herself to bed in her crate  When she is over-stimulated or over-tired, she will settle right down and have a nap in her crate when you lock the door. She also likes having a sheet over it, it is very calming for her.

she is a vocal girl and tries to tell you what she wants.

She is extremely sweet and cuddly and honestly a great dog!

She needs:

She would do best in a home with someone familiar with the bully breed temperament.   She needs an active home and someone who will not only take her for good walks and hikes but also  play mind stimulation games and someone wanting an active dog to do agility or nose work.    She wants to be challenged mentally.  She is smart but needs encouragement and the right motivation to engage in training. Work on her Leash skills as well as off leash.    She needs a home with a safe fenced back yard. NO Chicken !! she is very allergic and will get ear and yeast infections !! Would be happiest in a home with another playful dog or bigger kids to play with her !

More things about Axelle:

Her people, all humans, kids, all dogs, good with cats when introduced properly,  playing tug-of-war ! Wrestling is a definite must with her dog friends. 

She loves to play chase, fetch sticks out of water, chase her furry friends on the beach, and through the woods! 

She is getting better with off-leash however still needs work with recall. She loves to go meet EVERYONE when off-leash to see who wants to come play, so she has no fear of something that could be dangerous like roads or cars. 

She loves raw beef bones, elk horns, anything that she can rip apart and chew on, she is game.

She does not mind having her ears cleaned and she loves to be massaged, brushed, and rubbed with a towel.

 She does not like her nails clipped. So I only do one or two at a time., and also playing on cement, walking on beach rocks etc helps keep them trimmed.

She is a sweet sweet soul and just wants to be everyone’s friend. Dogs and people, no matter who they are. 

Axelle has pet insurance at a really, really good rate, so we will look into if this can be transferred.

Axelle would do best with Someone that will take her to mentally stimulating classes like nose work, etc. She has a lot of intelligence, love and fun to share. 

Axelle loves a teaspoon of coconut oil every day. It’s like dessert to her! This is for good for her immune system and her coat. She is on Acana Red Classic food, and she gets 3.5-4 cups a day, (hiking, etc days) which is more than the bag says. This is because she likes to feel full, and if she doesn’t, she will keep looking for food. (Maybe because she had to forage for food before)

She will eat anything. So put food you are cooking out of reach 

She is still working on leash training. She is a very willed strong girl, but you have treats in your hand she will walk right by you!

She is spayed, micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccines.
