Ali – Courtesy Post

We rescued Ali last Nov in La Penita , Mexico where we live 6 months each year. He was 3.5 months old and had been mauled by a dog and abandoned . We had 2 choices , to foster him or adopt him . We had him neutered and vaccinated before taking him home to Brentwood Bay . Ali is a mix Russian Blu male cat . He is all of what Google say about a Russian Blu :
Russian Blue cats are curious but calm, affectionate but not clingy, and very smart. They can be shy at first, but they are playful and loving once they feel comfortable. While they are happy living with families and even other pets, Russian Blue cats tend to form a deep connection with only one person. The Russian blue is a sweet-tempered, loyal cat who will follow her owner everywhere, so don’t be surprised if he greets you at the front door! While he has a tendency to attach to one pet parent in particular, he demonstrates affection with his whole family and demands it in return.
We love him dearly and he loves us dearly but It is too stressful for Ali to travel by plane back and forth to Mexico and he is very stressed on our sailboat .
We are looking for a forever home for him, now that he is well adapted to this environment. Ali loves the outdoors and come in for his meals and to sleep inside with us at night . We are looking for a similar home . Ali will turn 1 year old in August .
If interested please fill out an application form and it will be forwarded to his family as we are assisting with finding him a good home.

Broken Promises Rescue is a volunteer run, not-for-profit, animal rescue organization located in the lower Vancouver Island. We are a group of long time rescuers that have come together to focus on improving the lives of unwanted, neglected and orphaned animals on Vancouver Island (as well as remote communities and other areas of B.C. if our resources allow us to.) Currently we are seeing many pets overlooked in the shelter system because they have less than desirable qualities. They may have medical or behavioral issues or they may simply be the wrong color, age or breed. At Broken Promise Rescue we believe all animals deserve to experience a life without pain, loneliness or hunger and want them to know what it feels like to be loved and cherished, despite appearance, age or medical condition. We are also dedicated to public education and raising awareness to help end the ongoing abuse, neglect and suffering. Educating children and adults about the responsibilities of animal ownership will go a long way in influencing public opinion on proper animal care, and help mold a more compassionate future. No animal should suffer at the hands of ignorance.
