Jamie is a handsome 9 year old short hair tabby. He was adopted by his owners when he was about 2. While Jamie was deeply loved, his primary owner’s ailing health impacted his socialization. As a result he is very independent and just learning how to play!
He is a resilient cat who has adapted in incredible ways – he has become more playful, curious and loving by the day.
It takes time and patience to earn Jamie’s trust, but it is so worth the effort. He loves brushes and pets from his chosen few. Head, neck and chin scratches are his favourite. He is a creature of habit and loves to cuddle next to those he trusts on their right side, all the while purring like a jet engine! A once quiet cat, Jamie now joyfully meows when his favourite people are around. He can be very silly and loves to roll around while he plays, showing off his adorable white tummy. He loves to sit by an open window and watch the world go by and is very interested in what you bring in from the garden!
Jamie is best suited in a home with no children and where he is the only pet. Jamie will need to be with someone who is gentle and patient.
While he doesn’t love it, he is good about being picked up and put into a kennel. He travels well from the house to the vets!
In the past when Jamie is stressed or overwhelmed he has gone to the bathroom on the floor. This is important to keep an eye on while he is adjusting to a new home. However, this has not been an issue for a few years.
He is a big boy on a low calorie diet and is losing some weight. Keeping him active and engaging in playtime everyday would be good for Jamie.
