Rita Chiquita Banana

🍌💛 Adoption Post: Rita Chiquita Banana 💛🍌

DOB March 31 2021

NEEDS: A home without young kids, and someone who will walk her and take her on adventures. We know she is little but she LOVES walks and adventures. She can walk about 1.5 KG a day !!
DISLIKES: Cats .. sadly she needs a home without cats. She will bark and charge them ALL day long so no cats please !
LIKES: Dogs but not really .. she is fine with them but doesn’t want to play or snuggle with dogs .. only humans .. so can go to a home with 1 “small” dog (as she’s very fragile) but if you want her to LOVE your current dog it’s probably a no go.

LOVES: Her person and to snuggle on a heated blanket

Medical: She is spayed, vaccinated and just had a dental. She is a chihuahua will need another dental for sure later in life so someone needs to be prepared for that !

Meet Rita Chiquita Banana, a 3-pound queen who wants everyone to know she’s a real dog… just fun-sized. She’s is freshly spayed, had her dental, and is up to date on all her vaccinations. She’s healthy, happy, and entirely prepared to rule your household with her tiny iron paw.

Rita is house trained, but let’s be honest: if you leave her too long, a pee pad or a rug are basically the same thing in her mind.

She is crate trained and will hang out in her crate, but if you’re home… she would very much prefer to be snuggled into your side, under your blanket, under your covers, living her best life. She’ll sleep in her crate, but she’ll sleep better in your bed.

Although she’s under 3 lb, she does not believe in clothes. Fashion is cancelled. A heated bed or a cozy blanket is far more her style.

Rita walks like a champion on leash and should be walked every day, just like every other dog. She goes outside to do her business in any weather—though if it’s pouring, she’s in and out faster than you can say “Chiquita Banana.”

Due to her tiny size, she is best in a home without children. Quick movements make her uncomfortable, and she’s just too small to safely navigate a kid-filled household.

She’s okay meeting new people, as long as they are respectful and don’t immediately try to scoop her up for cuddles before she’s even said hello. Proper introductions = happy Rita.

Now, the truth about cats: No. Absolutely not. Rita will bark, chase, and try to bite them. She has made her position extremely clear.

With other dogs, she is a tiny hall monitor. She fun-polices her foster siblings if they run too fast, play too wild, or dare enjoy themselves without her permission. She does enjoy zooming around with the young dog in her foster home, but once she’s done, everyone else is also done. Rules are rules.

She would love to be the only dog on your lap, but if another dog is very tolerant of her shenanigans and respects her “I go first” lifestyle, they can coexist beautifully.

Rita eats like a champion, barks at the door like it’s her job, and isn’t bothered by fireworks or loud noises. She has clearly been loved her whole life, and due to circumstances beyond her control, she’s now looking for a forever home that will spoil her the way she believes she deserves.

Chihuahuas can live a long time, so adopting Rita means a long-term commitment to loving, laughing, and meeting the demands of this pocket-sized ruler.

If you’re looking for a loyal snuggle bug with a huge personality packed into 3 adorable pounds, Rita Chiquita Banana is ready to claim your lap and your heart. 💛🍌
