Tell me about the cat:
Age: 10

Breed: Ragdoll

Health/ vet care: Very healthy – we haven’t needed to take her to the vet. She is full of energy, eats/drinks well, and loves attention.

Personality (shy/outgoing etc): Very outgoing with my husband and I, but a little shy at first when meeting new people or other animals. We’ve noticed that she’s more comfortable with people that are calm and patient. She prefers to be pet or brushed rather than held, but will certainly cuddle up or sit on someones lap on her own terms. She is sweet, affectionate, loves attention, playing with paper balls or her scratch post. She has never been aggressive, bitten, or been destructive to furniture and does not hunt or kill anything when she goes outside.

She does a good job of grooming herself, but should be brushed every week or so due to her thick coat. We have several brushes to pass on to the family. We feed her Performatrin Prime dry food for hairball control and it does an excellent job of reducing hairballs. We can also provide a big bag to the family. She can be quite loud and it would be best to find someone with hearing loss or is able to sleep through nighttime noises. Sleep loss from this noise is the primary reason we need to find her a new home.

She mostly stays indoors, but likes to play outside when the weather is nice. She also prefers to be outside when we can go out with her. She should always have access to shade when its warm as her coat is very thick and she gets hot easily. She would prefer a calm, happy environment as she picks up on stress easily and will hide somewhere in the house if she feels uncomfortable.

She would probably love another friendly cat companion as she used to have that with our male tabby that passed away from kidney disease. At one point, they slept/played together and groomed each other. I don’ think a home with dogs would be comfortable for her as she spooks easily with loud noises / barking and would probably find somewhere to hide. We’ve never seen her be territorial with our neighbourhood cats or aggressive towards other animals or people. She tends to get lonely easily, so it might be a good idea to match her with friendly another cat.
