Chloe came to us after her human passed away. She is 13 years old and looking for a retirement home. We have had her fully vetted and she is pretty healthy for her age athough she does have Trachea issues. So we are starting her on medication to see if we can help with that. She also does need a dental but unfortunatly the Vet does NOT recommend doing it as with her Trachea issues it would make things worse for her. So it is recommended to just do what we can for her to make her comfortable and loved!
She is very sweet, friendly and cute as a button. She gets along with other dogs, but is very independent and more interested in her human.
She loves head scratches and snuggles too. She is used to sleeping on a dog bed and hasn’t had any interest on my bed.
Since she suddenly lost her human, she is very anxious without her person. She can start to pant and have a coughing fit, but once she feels safe and secure it is much better.
She would best be suited with someone that can give her full attention and love. She would love to be the center of her human’s attention.
For the last 3 years she has had limited walks, so is a bit overweight. She loves being outside and currently doing short walks until she works her way up.
She will gallop around and tire herself out, but is getting more stamina with time. She is remarkably spry for her age, but will need to be on a weight control diet and continue to go on walks.
She doesn’t know stairs, so would be better suited one level access unless she is carried up the stairs and they are blocked off.
She was used to using pee pads in the house, but she will go do her business outside when taken out. I do have a pee pad out for her if needed, but generally she goes outside now.
Her coat is quite thick, so in the heat she gets very hot and pants, which can cause her to hack so it’s best she always be kept cool.
Chloe has had some rough time recently losing her human and being shifted around, so would love to see this girl get her forever home.
